GCE Wedding Spotlight: Brennin & Will
Brennan and Will chose a Christian contemporary group for their ceremony under the gorgeous oak tree. The weather held out for a beautiful outdoor ceremony!
After the vows, guests moved to the Conservatory and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with the David Caceres jazz trio.
David Caceres is one of our most beloved artists and a true Houston gem! Originally from San Antonio, David is an accomplished saxophonist and vocalist. Not surprising given his musical heritage – his grandfather led a popular swing orchestra in San Antonio in the 30’s and 40’s; his great uncle played saxophone with Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. David will put a great band together whenever he is asked to play his great combination of jazz, swing, big band, and variety.
Brennin and Will had their good friend, Sanders Bohlke play their first dance song. Sanders is a soulful and successful singer/songwriter from Oxford, Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) who tours nationally and made a special stop in Houston for the wedding. Their first dance was to his beautiful song “Somewhere”.
After dinner and the special dances, guests geared up for dancing in the gorgeous Pavilion decorated by Events in Bloom. The band fired up their first dance set and the crowd got going!
Brennin and Will chose The Groove Merchants, a 10-piece party band from Salt Lake City, Utah. The band consists of 3 front singers, a 4 piece rhythm section and 3 horns. They travel all over the country for private and corporate events, and we were super excited to have them in Houston! We are constantly exploring new and nationally touring party bands on the wedding circuit for our clients to keep it fresh, and they all love coming to Texas!
Of course the dance floor was full all night long, which should always be the band’s main objective. An experienced party band is expert at calling songs on the fly to keep the momentum of the party going and guests engaged. We always work with our clients and planners to customize set lists, announcements, and requests, so the band understands the genres and artists the family and guests want to hear. We love taking care of all details for the band, as bandleaders often juggle tricky schedules and may not be able to communicate directly with the client or planner as quickly as they like. We know and work with our bands regularly so we know exactly what they need and how they operate. Delicate details are most important on the big day. Bands trust us wholeheartedly and you can too!
