What a year! As it comes to a close we revisit some of the many destination weddings we executed this year. Our couples chose some gorgeous and “weather friendly” locations such as Aspen, Newport Beach, Hot Springs, Virginia and Park City, Utah to name just a few! While GCE is based in Houston, we work nationally and pride ourselves on staying current with the best of the best around the country. Our couples call on us to curate artists and bands in these locations, whether it’s regionally sourcing the top entertainment or arranging a favorite to travel to their destination of choice. Revisiting these amazing weddings brings us great joy, so find each unique story below and how we sourced music for the big day. No matter where you choose to get married, we’ve got a lot of ideas for you!
What. A. Party. San Antonio native and Creative Tonic designer Lila dreamed up this breezy, beachy, outdoor wedding at the new Palmilla Beach Club in beautiful Port Aransas. With her laid-back vibe and expecting a major party crowd, we settled on longtime Austin favorite Dysfunkshun Junkshun. This seasoned Funk band brings high energy and crowd interaction with wigs, 70’s garb, and big personalities! Tried and true Funk, R&B, and Motown are their specialties, and they had a major dance party at the beach. Even some guest singers joined the band onstage, making this one for the books.

Annina & Jordon
Newport Beach, CA
Annina chose the iconic Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA, for her oceanside wedding. Author of Cinched At the Waist, a fashion/lifestyle blog, she brought her creativity and discerning eye to all the planning decisions. Wanting indoor and outdoor elements, plus having Latin and Italian parents, we sought to incorporate all these factors into the music, with the help of the fabulous LA Allstars.
Cocktail hour on the Terrce, where guests enjoyed perfect SoCal weather and the band provided a cocktail trio setup outdoors, playing lots of Latin fusion, Jazz and light cocktail music.
Impeccabile detail and planning by A Good Affair (shout out to @agoodaffairnatalie)
The band put together a special slow, acoustic arrangement of Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close”, for Annina and Jordon’s first dance
The 5-hour party got going with a mix of classics, Motown, Top 40 and Latin
The Allstars brought in a special Latin vocalist for the night, and also did a special high powered version of “Vivir Mi Vida”by Marc Anthony
In tradition, ” La Hora Loca”, broke out with lots of fun accessories and Brazilian dancers by La Hora Loca California!

Les & Don
Marfa, TX
One of the most unique weddings we have had the pleasure of working on was in October 2016, when Les Griffith wanted a fun party band for her wedding with a heavy 80’s repertoire- in the middle of west Texas. After considering all the options to travel out to Marfa, TX, she chose Texas favorite: The Spazmatics.
Everything about this wedding was minimalist chic. The Chinati Arena is not your typical wedding venue, but with much coordination for travel, production and sound configuration, the band did an excellent job of executing the perfect party.
After the traditional ceremony at a church, friends and family moved to the Chinati Arena where they had a second, traditional Korean ceremony outdoors with just immediate family while guests cocktailed.
Les and Don’s sweet first dance as husband and wife was to “Natural High” by Bloodstone.
The Spazmatics took the stage in their signature uniforms, providing Texas’ best nerd party
