From Austin, Texas Poor Man’s Fortune is one of the finest traditional music bands in the US. Traditional without the cobwebs, Poor Man’s Fortune plays modern music with tradition- schottishes and congas, jigs with didgeridoos, gavottes & darbukas, haunting ballads with soaring bombardes. Using bagpipes, flutes, fiddles, pennywhistles, accordions, dulcitares, electric violins and a jazz bass, this band has a profound repertory of reels, hornpipes and jigs from Ireland, Belgian waltzes, Scottish mouth muisc, ridees and gavottes from France, and songs and schottishes from England.
