Violinist Mary Ann Willis has been playing for Houston’s events since 1979. She is currently performing with Houston’s world fusion band Moodafaruka and was the violinist with Houston’s multi-ethnic society band The Gypsies for 20 years. She earned her B.A. in music from the University of California at Santa Cruz, studied at L’Institut des Hautes Etudes Musicales in Montreux, Switzerland, and is the author of eight Fiddle, Classical, Ethic and Gypsy instructional books/recordings for leading music publisher Mel Bay. Her repertory includes classical wedding ceremony music, Continental (French and Italian), Celtic, and fiddle.
